The expansion of tourism relations between Azerbaijan and Kyrgyzstan was the focal point of discussions during a meeting held on July 4 between Fuad Nagiyev, Chairman of the State Tourism Agency, and Kayrat Osmonaliyev, the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic to the Republic of Azerbaijan.
During the meeting, there was emphasized the significance of broadening cooperation within the framework of international organizations and the importance of conducting joint promotional events and knowledge exchange.
The discussions also revolved around the vital role of establishing direct flights to facilitate mutual promotional visits and increase tourism exchange between the two countries.
Ambassador Kayrat Osmonaliyev announced that starting from July 22, 2023, direct flights between Bishkek and Baku will be available once a week, further enhancing connectivity between the two nations.
It is noteworthy that in the first five months of 2023, Azerbaijan saw a 51% increase in the number of visitors from Kyrgyzstan compared to the same period in 2022, with 1,733 people traveling to Azerbaijan from Kyrgyzstan during this time
